To view the current settings (in gigabytes) one can use on the frontend "mmlsquota --block 1G-size" command.

If the limit gets exceeded, there will be a 7-day grace period, during which one can still read and write into the file system. However if  one misses to return within the allocated quota, after the grace period it will not be possible to write new data on disk.

In order to  free disk space it is suggested to store data on tape.  A new service for archiving files is now available as described in  the march 2017 ReCaS-newsletter.
